Although the photographer reports that Rocko the llama lost interest in the proceedings and gallumphed away after this photo, I love the expressions of llama and Dorrin apparently eyeing one another.

It occurs to me that they fit together well, and I should immediately figure out a way to introduce camelids, if not actual llamas, somewhere on the periphery of the space defined so far. I had in fact been wondering what the mmmhrmmm use for transport in the hhhnmph, which we will be visiting in future, and had rejected dromedaries and even Bactrian camels (they just don’t fit) but these guys…yeah, maybe.

I saw an article about using goats for pack animals when hiking. They can carry around 60 lbs, which is about the same as a llama.

And they don’t spit. They do have their little ways, though.
