The first arrivals I heard of were actually last week, in Sweden and then in The Netherlands. But several more showed up today, including one in my state, Texas (S.Z. in Houston emailed that he’d bought one in a bookstore.) By authorial decree (picture me holding up a fancy scroll and reading from it) I hereby declare that arrival notices are not spoilers, even though they may add to the frustration of those who haven’t yet received their copy.
That’s selfish, by the way, because I want to hear more about where the books are, and report the distribution stuff to my agent. So if you don’t want to, don’t, but if you do, you’ll be contributing to the knowledge base.

Mine was on my doorstep in Maryland this afternoon (3/21) courtesy of Amazon. Can’t wait to read it!

Um… after bemoaning Amazon’s shipping schedule (I was expecting it, per their email, on Wednesday – maybe Tuesday if all went well) I got a package this morning here in SoCal. Monday morning, 3/21. I guess Amazon has a distribution center nearby between LA and San Diego.
I haz a book!
But in fairness to everyone else, I’m now busily, absorbedly rereading Oath before I take the plunge. (Which I wanted to do anyway.)
The new book is sitting in splendor on the coffee table, waiting to be devoured. (I’m not sure if that makes me disciplined or masochistic… back to reading now, ttyl!)

Just picked up the UK release in Australia (22/3), I wasn’t expecting it for another week.

I am still waiting impatiently for Play.com to post my copy of Kings, and wonder if I should compare notes with those Swedes to get the next book earlier. If they can get the book early in Sweden, surely I can manage the same in Norway. 🙂

My e-book became available for my Nook sometime between 10 pm and 5 am this morning, since I was able to download it as soon as I woke up. I plan on going to my local B&N for a hardcopy today, and I hope there will be a copy! If not, I’ll wait a few days. I still want a hard-copy, but after personal scheduling nightmares and a forgetful mind, I didn’t get to preorder locally so went with e-book.

Merewen: Just had a scare–was writing a reply to your comment and my fingers stumbled–and everything disappeared, including your comment. Opening Paksworld in another window got it back, so I’m very glad whatever I did didn’t delete it by accident. What I was going to say was, Thanks for the double supports, and I’m fascinated at how copies of the book propagate in the different media and in different places.

Moira: Amazon must have a very efficient distribution center…or one that doesn’t trust the actual shipping time. Glad you’ve got it, anyway.

My hardcopy has been shipped and should arrive from Amazon today in Maryland.
I might re-read Oath first. I had been planning on doing that sooner, but my husband was reading it and just finished. I have a trip coming up in a week and would like to save them for airplane reading, but may or may not succeed.

I am anxiously awaiting a call from Third Place Books, an indie shop here in Seattle, that has reserved a copy (hard) for me. I hope to pick it up after work tonight. Please, please, please, Book Goddess, let it be so!!!

My copy came via SF-bokhandeln, a shop specializing in ST, fantasy. manga and the like. The other two web-shops I use, Bokia and AdLibris, doesn’t have it yet.

Well, I received my email from B&N this morning (release day) at 12:03 am that my book would be ready for pickup YESTERDAY! Baaah. Should have stopped by to see if they had it “early”. Going to go after work today.

My copy is the UK paperback, have read the majority of it last night, and now just finishing it off the last few chapters before I go off (late) to work.
Very much enjoying the book. Only problem I have is now I want book 3.

Just had my husband on the phone to say that my copy has this moment arrived by post from Amazon UK. Now all I have to do is get through the rest of the day… 🙂

Better placement this time around when I went in and picked up my reserve copy at the local B&N. Didn’t buy it Oath right away, was occupied, and the display kept moving so when I did go look for it they didn’t even have any shelved with the rest of your titles. Hopefully my comments then and the preorder now seemed to have helped locally anyway.
Trying to get out of town for a few days R&R but a half foot of snow overnight and flood warnings are making me give pause. Oh, well have a good book to read.

Well, either Elizabeth’s good thoughts, the Book Goddess, or maybe just solid business practice (they SAID I could get it Tuesday) led to me getting my copy of Kings last night at 8:30. It’s lovely to be able to return to Paksworld!
I want to go to Spoiler Space see what the discussion is, but I don’t want to have what I haven’t read yet spoiled….

Spoiler Space here isn’t open yet. (Author is racing off to city to sign shelf stock at more bookstores and rehearse Bach and get her Bach score punched and rebound with black cover. AND I spent an hour on the tractor this morning shredding the nearest stuff. LOTS more to do.)

Normally I’d only think my order arrival would be of interest to me, but since this is a data gathering exercise, my Amazon order (cheapest shipping, predicted arrival March 26/28 or later) got to my door at 1pm on March 24. 🙂

FWIW, Amazon has been excellent at hitting it right on the nose for me — books always arrive on their official release day. This one did too. I’m in the Central Valley of California.

Just picked up my copy at Borders in Atlanta (one that is staying open). There were copies in front, in Hardback New Releases, and another shelved in order with your other books in the the SF/Fantasy section.
I had not pre-ordered, so I’m rewarding their buyers good sense in getting the book!

Procured a copy at a Borders in Germantown, MD the evening of 3/22 after stopping to visit the horse. I had dreams of getting one in WV and having the DH read it to me on the way home … I ended up finishing the book we were reading on the drive instead. I was a little surprised it wasn’t on the “Newly Released” table but found it with little trouble. I’m enjoying what I have read so far and am eager to get back to it.

As another data point, my (paperback) book arrived last week (23rd March) from Amazon UK (I live in the UK), although they’d advised that it would be later than that. I was still re-reading Oath at that point, so am only 3/4 of the way through Kings. Enjoying it so far.
