Thanks to Webmistress Ruta, who used a random number generator and got me an answer this morning.

And thanks to Ruta as well.

Ruta has now given me access to a random number generator I can use myself (but don’t you think it’s cooler to have *someone else* come up with it? I do, because I have a personal affection for certain entries (liked the foods, liked the reason, loved having less-major characters remembered and invited to dinner, etc–and we don’t want the writerly “It’s MY BOOK dammit!” control issues intruding on contests.)
I think there’ll have to be more contests. Which means I have to come up with more swag.
Thanks, all.

Your random number generator came up 42? That’s…somewhere between geek karmic and flat out odd ๐ I’d take it as a sign!

42 only THINKS it’s the answer to everything. ๐

congrats Larry, and I was thinking of bribing a friends grandson to go hunting with me if I won, may still, just have to figure out the bribe now. Want to pass the book on? Just kidding. Have a great time reading.

A friend’s grandson has to be bribed to go hunting??? You need a different friend’s grandson. Or granddaughter.

Congrats Larry.
Although….This does make you the Webmistress’ chosen one…

The friends grandson is in his 30’s with 2 kids and would be going with a 64yr old lady. I just want him to gut and load the deer. Even told him I would shoot his if he wants, didnt work, he just laughed at me. He likes the big bucks and wooly woods and I like the deer stand on 20 acres just south of me and the small deer for eating.

Congrats Larry, enjoy.
Elizabeth, if you’re interested in the Carbonara recipe just send me a note and I’ll send it to you. It’s really quite simple and perfect for a quick side dish. I’ll warn you though, the key is quality, read expensive, ingredients. The parmesan I use is imported from the old country and rather than bacon I go to a little Italian deli and get some prosciutto. Very rich and quick.
The huckleberry cobbler is a recipe I’d have to dig for but can be found.
Dang, now I’m hungry for huckleberry cobbler and they’re out of season now.
