I will be at Dragon*Con this year (Sept 3-6, Atlanta GA.) Schedule:
Friday: 4 pm Autograph Session
Saturday: 1 pm “Hour with Elizabeth Moon”
Saturday: 7 pm Dragon*Con Awards Banquet (not a good place to chat. LOUD!)
Sunday : 1 pm “Delphic Oracle” (panel storytelling game)
Sunday : 4 pm “Science Fiction and Politics”
Sunday: 7 pm “Showcase: Elizabeth Moon
Monday: 11:30 am “The New Amazons”
Monday: 4 pm “The Future of Fantastic Fiction”
Would be fun to meet up with Paksworld fans attending Dragon*Con somewhere in those four days. I will be bringing along some unusual (one at least utterly unique) items to give away, probably in a random drawing, maybe after a contest. Depends on responses here and there.
(And of course I’ll be glad to see fans of the other books and series as well–all are welcome.)

I was just in Atlanta last week… I’m sad that I don’t have the funds to go back for Dragon*Con.
I hope you have lots of fun!

I’m sorry you can’t make it, Angel. I’m sure I will have fun. I haven’t been to Atlanta in several years, and expect Dragon*Con is even bigger now.

I will be at DragonCon, but working at a booth in the Exhibit hall. I very much doubt I will be free to get to any of your programming items. *sniffle*
You could stop in to Honeck Sculpture *grin*

I’ll certainly come looking. I should have some browsing time for looking and shopping for books & stuff. Though the last time I was at Dragon*Con, I never did even FIND all the places to look and/or buy.
(Just jotted down “Honeck Sculpture” on the bottom of my program printout.)

One year I will make it to Dragon*Con! Just not this year. *sigh*

I am thrilled you’re coming to DragonCon and what a great schedule of events. I will certainly bring my gaggle of friends to see you.

I will be there- and I will definitely be at one of your events. I have a son on the spectrum too.

Just a word of caution: people in Atlanta drive like people in Dallas or Houston, very fast & agressive(though Atlanta people are more polite about it). It was alarming at times, since I’m from a small town on the west side of Fort Worth.

Thanks for the warning, but I won’t be driving. I’m taking the train to Atlanta.

Was really hoping to go, but just not going to be able to make it. For once Ive actually kept it in mind. Last year I didnt realize it was time until I started seeing pictures of it show up on the net.

It’s a lump of time and money, that’s for sure.

Alas, I won’t be getting to DragonCon until Friday night. Any chance you’ll be doing autographs some other time? I waited a whole extra week to get Oaths so I would have the hardback copy for you to sign 🙂
And if I may ask, what train route are you using to get to Atlanta from Austin? Every time I try to get to Austin by train from anywhere in the southeast it either routes me through Chicago or strands me in San Antonio and makes me book each leg separately.

I will be glad to sign books any time that I’m not rushing away to something else I’m supposed to do. Your best bet is to come to my Saturday panel at 1 pm; I can sign a book in the hall before hand, or afterwards.
I had to create my own route, and it does involve spending a night in New Orleans because the Sunset Limited doesn’t connect easily with the Crescent to Atlanta, as you’ve found. Also on the way back I’m going to spend some dark-of-post-midnight sitting in the train station in San Antonio waiting to board the Texas Eagle to Austin (it’s a reasonable changing-trains time on the way down.) It’s still a day shorter than through Chicago. What I did was work out which trains on which days (I wish the Sunset Limited would go daily–that would make life easier–and even go farther east, for that matter) and then go to the station in Austin and let the stationmaster set it up for me. So it’s Texas Eagle to San Antonio, Sunset Limited to New Orleans, spend the night, Crescent to Atlanta.

Elizabeth, Alas, I won’t be going. But a friend of my brother’s has just mentioned she will be. Don’t know how many books I’ll be able to convince her to drag along for me. So maybe my Oath will get in the travelogue yet. 🙂

I hope you’re successful. Be sure to point your brother’s friend at the schedule I posted here, so she can find me, if she’s got books to be signed.
