Talk about mixed blessings…I get this monster down to a reasonable length, and then someone says “Yes, but…” and I start working on that, and boom! comes a plotbomb that explodes all over the scenery, showering it with many-many words. Plot-bomb: good thing. Many-many words: means some other words (wonderful 24k gold words studded with rubies and emeralds, of course. Do I ever write any other kind? Don’t answer that!) have to come out. I dare not look at that side of it now. Must keep looking only at the target chapters and see if this is what they need.
I knew there was a walloping good argument between C1 and C2…after all, there’s foreshadowing up front and in fact C2 has made serious blunders. But I didn’t know there was a row before the row. Yes, indeedy-do there’s a row. However (mild worry about plot-bomb) right now it’s between C1 and C2a (a being a minion of C2, who’s in the scene, as compared with C2, who is somewhere else and that’s the problem.
What I need at this point is a dissident faction. Just thought of that. Hmmm. Is C2’s party capable of developing a dissident faction? I would say “Of course–any group can develop a dissident faction,” but I’m not sure in this case. Different universe, different people with all sorts of backgrounds unlike ours…
If you see more glows and sparkles, and hear booms, think plotbombs landing on my work.
