Thank you. Question: do you like long URLs like the above, where you can see for sure where you’re going, or shorter ones that would show only the vendor name for the contained link? Or does it not matter to you? Sometime back, I had been using TinyURL a lot and someone commented that they didn’t like clicking on a shortened link because it might contain a toxic link of some kind…so I started using longer ones. OTOH, some people don’t like long ones. So I’m collecting data here.

Yay! Just preordered mine.
Long links are just fine.

Wow – I preordered mine – I did not use your link however but went directly to the big river.
Looking forward to it.

This is greaat! I hope having the publication date fixed helps to make up for the very nasty accident you had, and that your face is healing quickly. As you said, in 2 weeks it will be much better, but that’s still a long 14 days.
Personally I much prefer the long URLs, so that I can see if they will work for me. I have to order through amazon.co.uk, as I live in Ireland.
Best wishes for a complete recovery.

Preordered.
I like the long URLs.

Preordered for Kindle. When there’s a hardback or paperback version, I hope to get one for the niece who doesn’t do ebooks.
When I’m viewing a trusted site like this one or the Universes blog and using my iPad, I like the tiny URL’s fine. I try not to use links on my phone, and my desktop has software that cautions me about risky links.
I hope you have an uneventful recuperation from the gravity attack!

I like the full link–when they are working. Sometimes when they get posted the “link to” bits get cut off and aren’t helpful. That’s why “tiny” came about. Tiny is also now good for all those working entirely from their Star Trek Tricorders (errrmm, multi-functional personal leashes, ehhh, “cell phones”).
Yours are fine, they work.
Yes, tiny can be a bit disconcerting as you do have to trust that all the security in the chain is working and account hasn’t been hacked, etc.
p.s. Sorry to hear about your encounter with this whirling sphere recently and glad to hear your mending is going swiftly.

I have used both with equal success. If I have a problem I usually have enough information to search it out.

I prefer long links and will order after work! Then impatiently wait for July 18. This so exciting. Thank you!

Oh, Gods. New adventures in Paksworld? What did we do to deserve this? Counting the days now. Sooo glad I stopped by!! Also, am very sorry to hear about your recent scuffle with pavement. Ouch!
Any appearances on tap to push the new material? I’ve only been a devotee of your writing for …thirty-three years? (Ye Gods) And wish to thank you in person and buy many things.

Ordered and eagerly awaiting!
I like the longer links at times so I’m more clear about the site on which I’m clicking, but as other say, I trust your site to be providing safe tinyURLs.

Prefer long so I know where it is going.

Pre-ordered. Length of URL is a non-issue.
Sure would like a hard cover edition.
