Still Not Quite There Yet

I had hoped to have the new site & blog up by the end of last year.  Then by the end of January.  Then by the first week in February.

Various things have intervened–and you don’t need to know all the details–but I’m still sick and still haven’t gotten the site up and open for comment.   It’s all done but turning on the lights and ripping the “under construction” sign off the front, pretty much, but the remaining bit is being sticky.

Don’t have Editor’s letter yet, either, though my agent tells me it’ll be here very soon.   Meanwhile writing on the new new book is going very slowly, as I have to know what changes Editor wants in Cold Welcome before going forward into #2.

Rest assured, you will be the first to know when the *shiny* appears.

Eagerly anticipating the news–but “life stuff.” My niece and I are off to ConDFW today, which prompts me to ask: Do you have any convention appearances scheduled for 2016? Maybe you’re waiting for a solid publication date to finalize the schedule?

All software projects take longer and cost more than projected. My sympathies.

    And get well soon.

In the midst of snow and Lent and all that, I wish you well in your projects and recuperation. And there is news to celebrate–gravity waves have been detected!

Kip: We were delighted & excited to hear the news about gravity waves.

Wickersham’s Conscience: My mother-the-engineer said much the same about construction and remodeling: it always takes longer, it always costs more, it always makes more mess than you planned for.

Chuck: The only thing on my plate is WorldCon in Kansas City. I have a heavy writing schedule this year for various reasons.

It is good to hear from you again; the long absence was causing worry. Wish you the best for recovery!

I was getting worried about you too! I hope Cold Welcome got a warm welcome. I’m reading the Planet Pirates book now; I had read Sassinak before, but not the other two.

Prayers for your healing and smooth progress when you write. We have been totally out of pocket since Christmas, but are finally back to normal. Need soup?

Dale: Not exactly. Many faults were found.

Ellen: I noticed! I hope nothing was terribly wrong. I can’t talk more than a few words on the phone yet, but email me if you have time. I don’t recommend a visit until I’m sure I’m over this. Grandkids don’t need you to bring it to them, esp. D-.
