I’m out of here in…10 minutes now. Play nice in the sandbox, treat each other well, have fun in Spoiler Space, and I’ll be back next week. (Whether I will have the energy to deal with comments on Monday night is up for grabs, and Tuesday morning is the early appointment with the eye surgeon….which means eyes dilated…which means not seeing the screen any too well when I get home. )My UK editor said that for that edition, the first week put me at 22 on a list (whose name I’ve forgotten and I don’t have time to look it up, sorry) and I would have been #6 if not for GRRM’s soaking up so many slots. Ah, well. Happens to us all.

While Elizabeth is gone, can anyone else refresh my memory on where the portraits of some of the characters are posted? And was one of them Arvid?

Hi Margaret,
The first portrait was indeed Arvid. It’s at

Hope this helps!

Congratulations on making the list, it is a sign of how many of us enjoy the books. Have a good trip!

Thank you, Fred.
[grin] I know these are Authorized Portraits, and my imagination agrees on Aliam, but for me, Arvid looks a lot more like the late writer Robert Asprin.
